Escritoire. s. f. Ce qui contient ou renferme les choses necessaires pour escrire, encre, papier, plume, canif, &c. Escritoire qu'on porte sur soy. escritoire à calemard & cornet avec des pendants. escritoire de corne, d'yvoire, de cuivre. escritoire de cabinet, escritoire de table, escritoire d'argent, de verre. escritoire bien garnie.
On appelle, Greffier de l'Escritoire, Un Greffier qui escrit les rapports des Jurez ou Experts en Maçonnerie, Charpenterie, &c.
